Squamous cell carcinoma


Squamous cell carcinoma of the lung occurs in approximately 30% of patients with lung cancer. Squamous cell carcinoma develops in the cells that line the airways. It tends to metastasize later than adenocarcinoma and is more likely to be readily detected in the sputum than adenocarcinoma.
