Mesothelioma Affects Lungs

Mesothelioma is a cancer of the lining of the lung. Although mesothelioma affects lungs, it is not considered lung cancer. Lung cancer arises in the tissue that makes up the lungs themselves as opposed to mesothelioma, which arises in the cells that make up the sac that lines the lungs and chest cavity.
