Surgery-Based
Multimodality Therapy
for Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma

June 13-14, 2008 • Friday - Saturday
Renaissance Dallas Hotel • Dallas, Texas

Dear Colleague,

The 1st Annual Harvard Medical School course entitled "Surgery-Based Multimodality Therapy for Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma" co-sponsored by the American Association for Thoracic Surgery will be held at the Renaissance Dallas Hotel, Dallas, Texas on June 13-14, 2008. Participants for this CME activity will receive a maximum of 16.5 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

This two-day symposium will provide an update to thoracic surgeons and allied specialists with regard to current diagnostic and staging criteria, and to the various surgery based multimodality management options that may be available to their patients.

Surgeons, pathologists and other physicians who may have a limited experience with mesothelioma due to its low incidence will benefit from a concise presentation of the state of the art by the field’s leaders.

Those thoracic surgeons who may treat a small number of mesothelioma cases will benefit from insights provided by those from higher volume centers in the management of these difficult cases.

Teaching will be done through interactive techniques, lectures and panels with the assistance of appropriate visual aides. Panel discussions will focus on current controversies and case presentations. The course will also include workshop style learning experiences. This combination of lectures, discussions, exhibitions and workshops will provide comprehensive coverage of surgery-based therapy for mesothelioma.
