The Board includes internationally recognized experts in mesothelioma, representing a variety of fields including epidemiology, biology, pathology, pharmacology, oncology, and surgery. The Board also includes three Patient Advocates who provide both the patient and caregiver perspectives. We are measuring with validated instruments the impact of this disease on patient and caregiver quality of life, and our advocates give us first hand guidance on where to concentrate our research in this area. The SAB will meet at least once a year at the Annual Retreat to give objective advice and evaluation, and make recommendations for future research plans. The Board’s recommendations will be summarized in a written report and implemented by Dr. Sugarbaker. Scientific Advisory Board Members
